How it works, start to finish
A wristband, some tap points, one terminal at the desk and a portal for your team. Here is what each piece does and how a visit flows through them.
The band goes on at the desk
When a family arrives, your staff create the player in the portal and hold a band to the terminal. That band now belongs to that player.
- Takes a few seconds per child, with no signup form for parents.
- Points and collections belong to the player, so a replacement band picks up where the old one left off.
- Bands can be set to earn only on the days a player is visiting.
Tap points pay out around the venue
A tap point is a small reader mounted wherever you want kids to go. Tap a band on it and points land on the player's balance straight away.
- Each tap point pays a player once per day, so the game is about finding all of them, not camping on one.
- Tie a tap point to a character or exhibit and the tap also adds it to the player's collection.
- Printable posters for each tap point come out of the portal, in your colours.
Points add up, and some days count double
Every tap is logged against the player, so balances are always right and staff can see exactly where a child has been.
- Schedule an event and every tap on that date pays double points.
- Staff can award bonus points for reasons you define, such as tidying up or a birthday visit.
- Reports show taps, redemptions and busiest tap points by day.
Rewards are traded at the counter
A player brings their band to the desk, staff read it on the terminal and redeem the reward from their profile. The balance drops, the redemption is logged, and the child walks off happy.
- You decide the rewards and the prices.
- Every redemption is recorded against the staff member who made it.
- Balances can be reset or adjusted by a manager when needed.
The player app, when you want it
The core game runs on bands and terminals alone. When you are ready, switch on the player app and members can sign in to see their balance and collection, and earn by scanning tap points with a phone.
- One switch in the portal turns it on or off.
- Players can link their own band from the app if you allow it.
- The app carries your branding, not ours.
Questions venues ask
Do kids or parents need a phone or an app?
No. The band does everything. The player app is an optional extra you can turn on later if it suits your venue.
What happens when a band is lost?
Staff open the player's profile, hold a new band to the terminal and it takes over. Points and collections belong to the player, so nothing is lost with the band.
Can a child tap the same point over and over?
They can, but it only pays out once per player per day. The game rewards finding every tap point, not standing at one.
Who supplies the bands and tap points?
We do. Bands, tap points and the counter terminal are supplied and configured for your venue before launch.
Does it work with more than one venue?
Yes. Each site runs its own install and its own portal, with its own branding if the sites differ. Tell us how many sites you have when you register.
Where do you operate?
We are based in Australia and work with venues nationwide. We also set venues up further afield when asked, so get in touch wherever you are.
